Come fall, Detroit workers who want to charge their Chevrolet Volt during work will have at least one option. The first of about 500 free electric-vehicle charging stations destined for southern Michigan homes and businesses now stands outside the headquarters of NextEnergy in TechTown at Wayne State University in Detroit.
